EMIMET improves its operational efficiency thanks to GoAigua's digital twin
GoAigua Water Twin Ace was implemented in EMIMET’s distribution network to improve operational efficiency and extend the useful life of its infrastructure. The digital twin enabled real-time simulation of the network’s behavior, providing the utility with support for decision-making in its day-to-day operations.
Challenges of the project
EMIMET was looking to improve its operational efficiency and extend the useful life of its infrastructure. The main challenge was to achieve a well-calibrated hydraulic model that could represent the current state of the system in real time and enabled the simulation of operating scenarios considering the real conditions of the system at the time.
Empresa Mixta Metropolitana, S.A. (EMIMET) is a company created by the Entidad Metropolitana de Servicios Hidráulicos (EMSHI) and Global Omnium. It manages the upstream water supply from the DWTPs to the municipal distribution points in the Valencia Metropolitan Area.

Solutions applied
The GoAigua Water Twin Ace digital twin was implemented in the upstream water distribution network of the Valencia Metropolitan Area, managed by EMIMET, in order to simulate the network’s behavior in real time.
First, a consultancy service was carried out to filter and choose the information required to build the model. Then, a digital twin was designed which was connected to the company’s operating systems, its customer system and to household consumption, in real time.
Today, the GoAigua Water Twin Ace solution, which shapes the digital twin, supports decision-making for daily system operations and planning at EMIMET.
