Early Warning System for flood prevention and management in the Ebro river basin
Water resources | Ebro River, Spain
This project aims to implement the Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua platform in Brabant Water, one of the main drinking water distribution utilities in the Netherlands, which needs to holistically upgrade the operational management of the service it provides.
Netherlands
Brabant Water supplies drinking water to 2.5 million inhabitants in the province of Noord Brabant in the Netherlands. The utility excels in the operation and management of its complex network which has around 20,000 km of pipelines.
Rolling out the Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua platform, which includes a digital twin, will help to connect, manage and optimize the utility’s network simply, securely and holistically. It is the central hub connecting all network readings and smart water meters. It will enable Brabant Water to collect real-time data on the status of the network and the water flowing through the system, from the drinking water plant to the water meters, and to respond to supply disruptions and challenges such as climate change and variations in drinking water demand.
In addition, the deployment of smart water meters will enhance the service quality provided by the utility, as customers will be able to automatically pay for the water they have used and find out how much they are saving.
This project also includes the required consultancy services to develop the distribution network’s digital twin, as well as advisory services to successfully design and implement technologies to facilitate the digital transformation process. Brabant Water’s digital network will be operational by the end of 2025.
