This project combines reading, billing and collection management services, customer service, and the operation and maintenance of networks and plants in the AQSur utility, with the objective of increasing water efficiency and achieving financial sustainability.

Thanks to these services, AQSur has managed to improve water quality and supply continuity, and to bring sewerage systems into service in the cities it manages. It has also optimized the management of its infrastructures and increased customer satisfaction.

The installation of micro-meters was part of an overall investment program worth $11 million, based on long-term viability and control of CAPEX and ROI. The increase in the number of customers and billed users has helped to grow the utility’s revenue.

Other key aspects of the project have included the implementation of new operational procedures to control OPEX, a new customer service program, and the introduction of supply improvements to reach 95% water supply coverage.

AQsur has been managing drinking water and wastewater services for more than 25,000 customers in six municipalities in the South Atlantic Department (Manatí, Candelaria, Repelón, Campo de la Cruz, Santa Lucía and Luruaco) since 2018.
